My Pokemon bag :D

This is my pokemon trainer bag and its current contents, the bag was made for me by my sister Ellie for my birthday just over a year ago. I have since then been adding more items to it, and it is now at the point where I really wanted to show it off.

First the items Ellie made me, the bag is designed from the Leaf Green girls bag.

I was bowled over by how lovely and accurate it was, the sewing is really neat and it wears really comfortably, the badges are being given to me by my boyfriend as I earn them in game. So far I am at the fog badge and it is very exciting indeed.

She also made me a rather hipster magicarp which was stuffed into a plastic pokeball, this magicarp is what inspired me to make the plushemon.

There was also included a pokedex, which I like because it makes blipping noises, and I can list my favourite pokemon. It just has the first 150 and I am getting rather good at guessing the numbers of each of them when I look them up.

Finally was the inclusion of the Silph scope, it is made from curtain rings and duck tape, and makes the user look particularly special when it is worn, though at least you can see ghosts. So maybe looking silly is not so bad.

She also included a map of kanto and three of the islands, however they got very damaged in the bag so in the end I have replaced them with new ones which also have their own map case.
Above are the items I have added to my bag since my receipt of it last year. The Rainbow-Pass so I can visit the Sevii Islands, My trainer Card which comes from my universities pokemon society. My berry bag, which I am planning on filling with berries over the summer. Finally I have a twisted spoon and a sooth bell. I will be making more of the misc items soon.

Finally the newest edition to the bag are my pokeballs, I have made 6 of them and at points they look quite special because they are not entirely spherical. But I am really pleased with how they came out and they are great to throw at people. They have filled out my bag nicely.

I also made a premier ball for my boyfriend, so this is my pokemon bag and I really like it.

Diglett

No. 050 Diglett.
The Red pokedex says
Lives about one yard underground where it feeds on plant roots. It sometimes appears aboveground.

Diglett is an object of many pokemon jokes so fitted well for my red nose day special. Not only that but he has a red nose. You are supposed to do something funny for money and i think diglett is funny so if you like him, donate here and if you don't like him, donate anyway beacuse red nose day and comic relief does a lot of good work.
I am naming him after the comic relief poster boy
Lenny
This year was the first where the red nose has toes, according to bulbapedia it looks like diglett may have toes too!

The next pokemon is back to the random list and is No.068 Machamp

Gloom

No. 044 Gloom.
The Red pokedex says
The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey.

I didn't know that it wasn't dribble, I still think it is cute, if a little gross. I realised that the oddish evolutions are one of my favourites when I saw just how similar they are to the Bulbasaur family.
My gloom took a bit of work to get the spherical look to all the parts so I thought I would post how I made the little spheres on his head to give people an idea of what they could try to do themselves.
Three leaf shaped with 120 degree points, sewn inside out, turned out, stuffed and sewn up

And here he is, named after the Jack Wills Bag I found and am using to keep my homeworks in:
Jack

The next pokemon is a special one for red noseday:

Please donate because it is a great cause and as a clue, the next pokemon has a red nose

Rattata

No. 019 Rattata, took a long time but it is done now.
The Red pokedex says

Bites anything when it attacks. Small and very quick, it is a common sight in many places.

This is Rattata, getting the balence took a while as I made this pokemon on the train and the carriage I was in had lights that turned off and on every 5 seconds. So over half the time I was sewing in the dark.
As a tribute, therefore, to the interesting rail service quality we get in Bristol, I name him after Temple Meads:
Meads

The next pokemon on my list is no.044 Gloom

Porygon

No. 137 Porygon, took a long time but it is done now.
The Red pokedex says
A Pokémon that consists entirely of programming code. Capable of moving freely in cyberspace.

Porygon took me a while, I made his feet too big, which meant redoing those and have had bouts of illness during the time I made him. He is done now and looks a little quirky. I will call him after the first professor of computer science at Bristol
Mike

The next pokemon on my list is no.019 Rattata

Bulbasaur

My absolute favourite, Bulbasaur!!
The Red pokedex says
A strange seed was planted on its back at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with this Pokémon.

This pokemon took a lot of time due to me being ill during the middle. Better now though. I had to decapitate him halfway through because his head was too small which was a quite upsetting experience.
I think if I could be like a bulbasaur I would be very happy indeed. I am naming this little guy after my favourite thing in Bristol. And that is the fantastic
Joseph.

The next pokemon on my list is no. 137 Porygon.

Golbat

Meet No.42 Golbat
The Red pokedex says:
Once it strikes, it will not stop draining energy from the victim even if it gets too heavy to fly.
The teeth were a bit fiddly but the cloth from Wilkinson made the job much easier than it would have been otherwise. Golbats predecessor is disliked by many pokemon players I know, and Golbat is not liked much better. I don't mind them too much. So I will call this him Cotham after a part of bristol I quite like.

Next pokemon on the list is No.1 Bulbasuar, This is my favourite Pokemon.

Spearow

This is no.21 Spearow
The Red Pokedex says:
Eats bugs in grassy areas. It has to flap its short wings at high speed to stay airborne.

Spearow are supposed to be quite angry, but when I did Its eyes it came out a bit more confused looking. I am naming all my pokemon after people and places in Bristol. So this Spearow is called Tristan.

The next pokemon to be made is no.42 Golbat

Starting Off

I'll be making pokemon, starting with the first 151 and going on from there. To make it more interesting for me I will randomly select which pokemon to make each time, until I have done them all. I will then go on to make the second generation.
4 Cleaning cloths £1.40

First I will say where my materials are from:
Felt £1.50
Felt and cleaning cloths are from Wilkinson. I got the cleaning cloths because I couldn't find any white felt, I hope the extra colours they have will be useful too. I find Wilkinson very useful for odd items as their children's arts and crafts section is cheap and full of colourful things

These are materials I had left over from previous projects, namely the material from the batman and robin outfits I created for our charity walk for The society Of saint James. www.ssj.org.uk . These were from www.cheapfabrics.co.uk and only cost £1.99 per metre and came with matching thread for an extra 99p.

My final fabrics are from www.quilters-haven.co.uk The ones I have are Marbles Jelly Roll by Moda
and Over the Rainbow Sunset Jelly Roll by Batik.
I really like the Jelly Rolls because you get so many different colours. They are usually for quilting and so are only 10cm wide but I am making small plushies, so it is perfect for me.

Marbles £26.95
Over the Rainbow Sunset £32.95
Finally I have some tiny black beads from my sewing kit, I use scissors made by Fiskars, and my stuffing is from a £1.50 pillow from Wilkinson.
I hope whoever sees these thinks they are fun and silly, I am starting by making no.21 Spearow and I wont be using any patterns or making patterns myself as I tend to just cut the fabric and see how it goes. So here goes.
